¡El Binghiman está de regreso! El mayor exponente del reggae ibérico vuelve a la Argentina para presentar nuevos singles, en los que muestra la esencia hip-hop de sus inicios.
El esperado show es este sábado 16, a las 20, en Palermo Club (Borges 2450, Palermo). Allí repasará sus mejores clásicos y también sonará “Seguiré Cantando”, el segundo single que lanzó en 2017, un track en el que se mezclan a la perfección el roots, la electrónica y el dancehall.
Con cuatro discos de estudio, giras internacionales y cientos de miles de discos vendidos, Morodo regresa a Buenos Aires junto a su banda Okoumé Lions y habló en exclusiva con Rock de Calle.
A poco de presentarse en Palermo Club, Morodo señaló que «siempre es grato regresar a la Argentina. Desde la primera vez que vinimos el vinculo fue bastante fuerte. Tengo amistad con bastante personas que siempre que regreso aprovechamos para reunirnos, y ya somos una pequeña familia».
En cuanto a la recepción del publicó comentó: «Muchas ganas a nivel escenario también porque es que el publico de Argentina siempre es poderoso, siempre es efervescente, muy fuerte y eso se nos contagia a nosotros también y es un feedback mutuo. La verdad es que con muchas ganas de poder presentarme de nuevo en Argentina y sentir esa vibra tan fuerte».
Recuerda que lo primero que le llegó del reggae de nuestro país fueron «hace muchos años, como a mucha gente supongo, Los Pericos y Los Cafres, muy parecidos en dinámica a unas bandas que había en España como «Potato» y me evoca a esos tiempos. La primera banda argentina que me impactó fue Lumumba (un trío formado a mediados de 1990, por Fidel Nadal, Amílcar Nadal y Pablo Molina) con Pablito, Fidel y Amílcar y tuve la oportunidad de verlos mucho tiempo atrás también en España, en el Viña Rock. Dos shows en un día, uno como Todos Tus Muertos y otro como Lumumba y la verdad es que tenían una energía poderosa que se mantiene hoy en día también y me considero fan desde entonces. Y la escena underground está creciendo muy bien, me recuerda a España y todavía sigo empapándome de las nuevas bandas y conociendo de ellas».
Sobre los nuevos temas y un futuro disco dijo: «Estoy trabajando, no tengo en concreto si sacaré un disco próximamente o seguiré recopilando temas, pero puede que haga las dos cosas. Yo creo que al final va a ser lo que va a pasar, pero es muy temprano todavía para hablar de fechas, de compilados o de disco. De momento estoy trabajando y tengo bastantes cartas en la manga y estoy trabajando también en otro proyecto que me lleva bastante tiempo. Y estoy en varias cosas, asique poco a poco iré sacando cosas, canciones y producciones».
Al respecto del Hip Hop y lo que es volver al genero sostuvo que: «Quería hacer un homenaje, tampoco me he ido nunca del hip hop. Sigo haciéndolo, a lo mejor no tanto en mis producciones pero cuando estoy colaborando o combinándome con otros artistas, siempre me mantengo en el hip hop, no es nada extraño para mi. Pero en el caso concreto, esta vez se trata de reivindicar un poco todo lo nacional, la trayectoria que hay y recordarle a la gente que seguimos aquí y que el hip hop sigue, que no es solamente rap. Y que somos espartanos, que estaremos siempre luchando por lo tanto, nunca nos fuimos».
En cuanto a la composición de las letras recordó: «Cada una es una temática, un mensaje, una idea, un sentimiento. Una composición diferente, no puedo generalizar todo en un solo mensaje, porque son muchas las cosas que hay que decir y la interpretación a veces es como la imagen, cada uno ve una cosa. Acá cada uno escucha una cosa y a cada los mensajes lo evocan a diferentes situaciones de su vida y sus circunstancias. Un mensaje general de mi música es que habla de unidad , de regeneración, de futuro y justicia. De realidad e intenta tumbar los paradigmas sin intentar tener un mensaje concreto, sino que es mas bien una vibración».
Antes de despedirnos, Morodo nos dice: «Siempre estamos trabajando, aquí o allá, siempre en movimiento y ya tenemos cosas cerradas para 2018».
