El próximo sábado 16 de junio, desde las 19, en el Teatro Flores (Avenida Rivadavia 7806‏) vuelve la banda más importante del Rock Boliviano. 

Octavia es la banda más importante del rock boliviano, su carrera ha estado acompañada de éxito desde el lanzamiento de su primer disco AURA en 1996. Este álbum no sólo marcó un antes y un después dentro de su carrera musical (conocidos anteriormente como CODA 3), sino que también cambió la percepción en la gente sobre lo que se estaba produciendo en el rock en Bolivia. 

Octavia es una banda de rock que tiene sabor boliviano, su música refleja la vivencia del ciudadano moderno en medio de una constante mezcla de culturas, adopta distintos lenguajes del rock y los matiza con ritmos y sonidos nativos; de este modo se logra algo muy diferente a lo conocido en el género fusión.

 

En su discografía encontramos ocho álbumes, seis de estudio y dos en vivo. Todos han sido DISCO DE ORO y algunos DISCO DE PLATINO. Sus canciones alcanzaron la cima de los rankings nacionales y la banda fue reconocida en varias oportunidades como la mejor del país, prueba de ello es la larga lista de premios y distinciones que han acumulado a lo largo de su carrera.

 

Recientemente el Gobierno Municipal deLa Pazy el Honorable Congreso Nacional de Bolivia condecoraron a OCTAVIA en mérito a su trayectoria, trabajo y aporte cultural.

 

Conciertos y giras los han llevado por toda Bolivia, así también han tenido presentaciones en Perú, Chile, Colombia (Rock al Parque 2000), México, Argentina, USA y España; donde compartieron escenario con grupos como Café Tacuba, Los Prisioneros,La Ley, Gustavo Cerati, Enanitos Verdes, Ataque 77, Aterciopelados, Manu Chau y Divididos entre muchos otros.

 

Sus videos fueron programados en canales musicales como MTV, MuchMusic, Ritmo Son y Tele Hit. OCTAVIA ha tenido actuaciones y entrevistas para prensa, radio y televisión en casi todos los países que ha visitado, destacamos algunos medios como CNN en español, Caracol, Telemundo, Miami Herald y Univisión.

 

Cercana a cumplir 14 años de carrera, esta banda sigue renovándose disco a disco y sorprendiendo por la calidad de su propuesta. El 2009 presentaron MEDULAR su más reciente producción con gran éxito en toda Bolivia. Este disco fue grabado en Argentina bajo la producción de Tweety González y Richard Coleman. Mezclado en SoundRec, Buenos Aires y Masterizado por Mike Couzzi en Miami, USA.

 

El año pasado MEDULAR fue considerado el mejor disco del año y las canciones VIAJE y AUTODESTRUCCIÓN (primeros cortes), como las mejores en varios rankings anuales. Este año se esperan nominaciones y premios para ACÉRCATE y EN TUS LABIOS (cortes 2010).

 

En Buenos Aires, ya tocaron en varias oportunidades mostrando un crecimiento en su convocatoria a través de los shows: Loca Bohemia, Plaza Bomberitos de Ramos Mejía, TheCavern (PaseoLa Plaza), Mr. Jones (Ramos Mejía), Egipto Disco (Ezeiza), Species de Wilde, CBGB de Congreso, Acrópolis de Luisa (Floresta), Teatro Verdi deLa Boca, Asbury Live (Flores), Niceto Club de Palermo.
